Privacy Policy

This policy explains what OnlineBoatDealer.com ("we") collects when you use this site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account details: your name and your email address or mobile number. If you continue with Google, Google shares your name and email with us. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication, and we never see or store them.
• Listings: boat details, price, location, photos and anything else you add.
• Inquiries: your name, email, phone number, message, any offer, and your consent to be contacted.
• Messages and requests: messages you send through the site, and financing, survey and sea trial requests, including the credit range and budget you choose to share.
• Alert settings: your email and text preferences, your saved searches and saved boats.
• Valuation requests: your boat's details, condition, use and damage history, and the photos you send.
• Technical data: sign-in records, device and connection information, and how many times a listing has been viewed.

How we use it

We use your information to run your account, publish listings, pass inquiries to sellers, prepare valuations reviewed by our team, send sign-in codes, keep the site secure, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.

Who can see it

• The public: listings and the seller name shown with them, so publish only what you are comfortable sharing.
• Sellers: when you send an inquiry, the seller of that boat receives your contact details, message and offer. The seller's own use of them is their responsibility.
• Service providers: Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage, and reCAPTCHA for phone sign-in), our email and text delivery providers (to send the alerts you've chosen), Anthropic (AI research on valuation requests, including your boat details and photos) and companies that help us host and run the site.
• Authorities and successors: when the law requires it, to protect people or the site, or as part of a sale or merger of the business.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context advertising.

Cookies

We use two cookies: one keeps you signed in and one remembers the boats you save. We do not use advertising cookies. reCAPTCHA, used when you sign in by phone, is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Text messages

If you choose phone sign-in, we text a one-time code to the number you enter. We do not use that number for marketing texts. Message and data rates may apply.

How long we keep it

We keep account and listing information while your account is open, and inquiries for as long as the seller needs them or the law requires. Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days. After you ask us to delete your account, we delete or de-identify your information unless we must keep it for legal, security or dispute reasons.

Your choices and rights

You can mark listings as sold from your dashboard. To access, correct, delete or get a copy of your information, email legal@onlineboatdealer.com. Depending on where you live, including California and other states with privacy laws, you may have further rights, such as appealing our decision or using an authorized agent. We will not treat you differently for exercising them.

Security and location

We use access controls and encrypted connections, but no system is perfectly secure. Your information is stored in the United States.

Children

This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
